Who to Contact and When

Chair of Governors

You may wish to contact the Chair about:

  • Concerns that have not been resolved after following the school’s normal complaints procedure

  • Questions about how the Governing Body works or its responsibilities

  • Feedback on the strategic direction of the school

  • Grievances against the Headteacher

  • Confidential matters that require independent consideration

Parent Governors

You may contact Parent Governors to:

  • Share general views or ideas about school improvement

  • Discuss wider issues affecting parents and pupils (not individual complaints)

  • Offer feedback on school policies or initiatives

Parent governors represent the parent body, but they cannot get involved in individual issues about your child or other children — these should always be raised with class teachers or the Headteacher first.

Confidentiality

All correspondence to governors is treated with confidentiality and will be handled in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures.
